Procedures - Medical Tab

On the Procedure Info window, the Medical tab shows information for medical claims. It is only visible if Medical Insurance is turned on in Show Features. Only enter information on this tab if you intend to send a medical claim.

Medical Code: The corresponding Medical code for this procedure.  If you set a default medical code in Procedure Code setup, it will automatically show. This will be required if sending a medical e-claim.

Mods: Medical code modifiers.

Unit Quantity/Unit Type: The quantity refers to the type.  E.g. 5 (unit quantity) minutes of anesthesia (unit type).

Revenue Code: If you set a Default Revenue Code in Procedure Code setup, it will automatically show here.

Drug NDC: The National Drug Code.  If you set a default value in Procedure Code setup, it will automatically show here.
- Drug Unit/Drug Qty: The quantity refers to the unit.  E.g. 5 (drug quantity) milligrams (drug unit).

SNOMED CT Body Site:  Click [...] to select a SNOMED CT code that references an anatomical site.  Click None to clear the box.  SNOMED CT codes are used for EHR.

Princ Diag:  Indicates that ICD-9 Diagnosis Code 1 is a Principal Diagnosis.  At least one procedure for each visit needs to have this box checked.

ICD-9 Diagnosis Code 1 - 4:  Click [...] to select ICD-9 codes.  Click None to clear a box.
