Accounting Setup

This page explains how to set it up so Deposits and Payments automatically create accounting Transactions in EZ 2000 Plus accounting.

To link deposits to Quickbooks instead, see QuickBooks.

In the Manage module, click Accounting, then Setup. EZ 2000 Plus should be selected in the upper right as Deposit Software.

The screenshot above shows a typical setup which will automate deposit and payment entries.

Automatic Deposit Entries:  Click Add, then double click on an account to add it the pick list.  Accounts entered here will be options in the Deposit into Account dropdown on the Deposit window.  Click Change to select the Income Account deposits will be credited to.

Automatic Payment Entries:  Click Add to select the Asset accounts a payment type can be credited to.  The accounts you select here will be available as options in the Pay into Account dropdown for that Payment Type on the Payment window.

- Click the dropdown to select a payment type.
- Click Add, then double click on an account to add it to the pick list.
- Click OK to close the window.

Click Change to select the Income Account payments will be credited to.

In the example above, only one cash box is set up.  Sometimes offices will have multiple cash boxes, one for each employee. In this case, set up an account for each employee cash box and add each cash box to this list.  When entering a Payment, the user will get to specify which cash box the money should go into.

When a cash deposit is made, an ordinary accounting transaction is entered which transfers the money from the cash box to the checking account.

If the income accounts for automatic payments are set up incorrectly, transactions may be attached to invalid accounts and you may receive an error when trying to view old payments. To fix this issue, see Accounting, Troubleshooting.
