Insurance Plan List The Insurance Plan List is very helpful when you want to look up an insurance plan, change a plan for all subscribers, or combine plans. See the Insurance Plan section to set up insurance for a patient. In the Main Menu, select Lists | Insurance Plans. You can filter the list by Employer, Carrier, Group Name or Group Number. To change the sort order of the list, click one of the Order By radio buttons in the upper right. To show 'hidden' plans, check the Show Hidden box. The Subs column at the far right indicates how many subscribers use this plan. To hide plans that are not currently used by any subscribers, click Hide Unused. This list also appears when you click Pick From List on the Insurance Plan edit window. Editing Insurance Plans Double click on the insurance plan row. The screen above may not look exactly the same as yours if your Show Features are set differently. The meanings of the various fields are explained in the Insurance Plan section. Combining Insurance Plans Select the one insurance plan that the others will be combined into, then click OK. Only the information and benefits of the selected plan is used in the combined plan; all other plans will no longer appear in the list. Do not
combine plans as a way to reassign all subscribers from an old
insurance plan to a new insurance plan. Doing so would change insurance
information on all past claims. It is important to instead create a
completely new Insurance Plan, then manually attach the patients to the plan as they come into the practice.
