Patient Medications 

A patient's medications are listed in the upper right of the Medical window. 

Every time you add, edit or remove a patient medication, an entry is made in the Audit Trail, and can be traced.

Add Medications:  Add a new medication to the list.
Show Discontinued Medications: Display medications that have a Stop Date prior to today's date.
Print Medications: Print a the patient's medication list. Any information that shows in the on-screen list will print.

To edit an existing medication, double click it.

Add a Medication
1.  Click Add Medication to open the Medication Master List.
2.  Double-click a medication to select it.  If you do not see the medication, you can add it to the master list.

Medication area:  The drug information as entered in the Medication Master List. Click Edit to change an RxNorm or modify the generic medication notes.

Provider: The patient's Provider.

Notes for this Patient:  Patient-specific notes.  If using EHR, this area will be labeled Count, Instructions, Refills.

Date Start:  Enter the date the medication was started, if known.  Click Today to insert today's date.

Date Stop:  Enter the date the medication was stopped, if known.  Click Today to insert today's date.  As long as the Date Stop is a future date or left blank, the medication will be considered active.  If the stop date is prior to today's date, the medication is considered inactive/discontinued. 

Remove:  Remove this medication from the patient's medication list.
