Patient Letters 

Before  haveing the ability to create or send a patient letter, set up at least one custom patient letter in Sheet Setup. To create or send referral letters, see Referral Letters.  See Letter Merge for more complex letters. Sent letters can be viewed in the patient's Chart module, Progress Notes and Account module.

In the main Toolbar, click Letter.

A list of patient letter Sheet templates will show.

Double click on a letter to open it, then Fill it Out.  Below is an example of the internal patient letter Sheet included with EZ2000 Plus Dental.  'Letter text' can be entered here, or enter default text in the sheet template.

To send the letter, click Print/Email.

By default, if an e-mail is already entered for the patient on the Patient Edit window, E-mail to patient will be checked, the e-mail will show, and Paper copy will be set to 0. 

If no e-mail is entered for a referral, the Paper copy default is 1.  This value can be manually changed.

Patient Letter Setup
When setting up a patient letter Sheet template, StaticText Fields can pull information from a patient's most recent Exam Sheet automatically. On the Sheet Def window, click Static Text, then Exam Sheet Field. 

Custom exam sheets are listed, as well as available fields.  Four different kinds of exam sheet fields can be pulled:  those that we define internally, radio button groups, 'misc' checkboxes with reportable names, and 'misc' input fields with reportable names.
