Open Dental Software Manual - Ortho Chart

Ortho Chart

The Ortho Chart can be used to keep track of visits in a grid format.  The data shown in the grid will only show here and is completely separate from information that shows in the regular patient Chart.  This feature can also be adapted for other purposes unrelated to orthodontics, for example sleep apnea patients.

In the Chart module, click Ortho Chart in the toolbar.

The current date will always show as a new row in the Ortho Chart lower grid when you open the window.

Patient Fields:  All Custom Patient Fields for this patient. Double click a row to enter patient information.  If the custom field is a text field, you can add an Auto Note.  A later enhancement might let you pick which custom patient fields to show here.

Ortho Chart:  A list of dated entries.  Click in a cell to enter text.
- Add Date:  Click to add an entry for a previous date.  A new row will show in the grid.
- Auto Note:  Add an Auto Note to the currently selected cell.
The columns shown are just examples.  To add columns, see Add Columns to the Ortho Chart Lower Grid below.

Add Columns to the Ortho Chart Lower Grid
In the Main Menu, click Setup, Display Fields, then double click Ortho Chart.

- To remove a column, highlight it then click the right arrow. It will list under Previously Used Fields.

Previously Used Fields: A list of columns that were used in the past, meaning they were once listed under Fields Showing, but were removed.  To re-add a column, highlight it then click the left arrow.

New Field: Create a new column in the Ortho Chart lower grid.  Enter the column name, then click the left arrow to add it to the Fields Showing list.
