Appointments Module Setup

You can set default options and settings for the Appointments module. Check a box to turn a feature on; uncheck a box to turn it off.

In the Main Menu, click Setup, Modules.  Click the Appts tab.

Appointment bubble popup disabled:   Disable the information box that shows when you hover over an appointment.  This can be useful for privacy or for better performance with Multiple Locations.

Appointment bubble popup delay: Prevent the bubble popups when moving your mouse unless you intentionally hover on an appointment.

Use solid blockouts instead of outlines on the appointment book: Display Blockouts with a solid background instead of an just an outline.

Put broken appt note in Commlog instead of Adj (not recommended): The way EZ2000 Plus Dental currently tracks broken appointments is by letting the user make Adjustment entries when they break an appointment. At some point, we will move to a dedicated table in the database for tracking broken appointments. Check this box to open the Commlog window instead.  The reason this option is not recommended is because the Commlog entries will not get automatically converted in the future when we move to the new table. On the other hand, using the Commlog might make sense if you don't want the patients to see that you are tracking their broken appointments and if you also wish to see the broken appointments in the Chart module.

Broken appt default adj type:  Select the default Adjustment type when an appointment is Broken.

Show ! at upper right of appts for ins not sent (might cause slowdown): Show an exclamation mark in the upper right corner of an appointment when any member of a family has procedures that have not been sent to insurance yet. For a few very large offices, enabling this option might slow down the Appointments module.

Time Arrived trigger:  Select the confirmed status that will trigger an automatic time entry in the Time Arrived field on the Edit Appointment window, and add the patient to the Waiting Room on the Appointment window.  Confirmed options are set in Definitions, Appt Confirmed.

Time Seated (in op) trigger:  Select the confirmed status that will trigger an automatic time entry in the Time Seated field on the Edit Appointment window, and remove the patient from the Waiting Room on the Appointment window.  Confirmed options are set in Definitions, Appt Confirmed.

Time Dismissed trigger:  Select the confirmed status that will trigger an automatic time entry in the Time Dismissed field on the Edit Appointment window.  Confirmed options are set in Definitions, Appt Confirmed.

Refresh every 60 seconds. Keeps waiting room times refreshed: Refresh the Waiting Room list every 60 seconds.  See Appointments.

Search Behavior:  Select the behavior for the Search feature in the Appointments window.
- ProviderTime:  Compares the needed provider time (indicated in the time pattern of the Appointment) with available provider time (indicated by the time bar at the left of the appointment schedule), then returns the first available time slots for each of the next 10 available days.
- ProviderTimeOperatory:  Checks operatories for available time slots for the entire appointment (provider and assistant time), then returns the first available time slots for each of the next 10 available days.

Appointment time locked by default:  Check the Time Locked box on the Appointments window by default.  When checked, added procedures will not automatically adjust the appointment time.
