Permissions

Permissions are assigned in the Security window. Refer to the table for details about each permission and its behavior.

Permission: The name of the permission as it appears in the Security window.
Internal Name: The name of the permission as defined in EZ2000 Plus Dental code. This information is very useful for programmers.
Behavior: What the permission allows in EZ2000 Plus Dental. There are different kinds of permission behavior:
       -Access control. Users without the permission can't even see the window.
       -Edit of individual items. This almost always includes delete permission as well. Users without the permission can still see the item.
       -Create new items.
       -Setup. Buttons that the user doesn't have pemission to use are frequently hidden or grayed out.
Date or Day Limits: Indicates which permissions can have date or day limits set. For example, you can only allow changes to insurance payments if they occur within a set amount of days, or before a specific date. This will help prevent fraud.
Global Lock Date: indicates which permissions are affected when a Global Lock Date is set at the bottom of the Security window. The Global Lock Date overrides any group-specific setting, and prevents editing of old items or entry of new backdated items. Date or Day Limits and Global Lock Dates work independently of each other.
Audit Trail: indicates which permissions are tracked in the Audit Trail.
